(makes three patties)
1/2 cup of lentils
1/2 cup of red lentils
2 cups of water
2 tbsp of soya sauce
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast
5 tbsp of wheat gluten
2 garlic cloves
1 tbsp of nut powdered
1 tsp of miso powder
2 tbsp of potato starch
1 tsp of chilli pepper powdered
1 tsp of ginger powered
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of pepper
1/4 cup of oil
Peel and shred the carrots.
In a pan, pour the water, the soya sauce, the black lentils and the carrots.
Cook over high heat until the boiling point is reached.
Reduce the heat and cover, cook for ten minutes.
Add the red lentils and cook for ten more minutes.
The water should be absorbed by now and the lentils should be tender. Sieve if necessary.
Peel and mince the onion and the garlic.
Mix all the ingredients together except the oil, it should form a dough.
Form out three patties.
Heat the oil in a deep frying pan.
When hot, cook the patties both sides in it (it should take 3 to 5 minutes).
Comment: it is really a good patty for hamburgers. We tried a version with one cup of shredded cheese added at the dough, the result is a little bit more fattening but great too.
